Job Description Senior Financial Planning Manager - Interim Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority in the South East to appoint an Interim Senior Financial Planning Manager. This is a senior assignment leading the Council's financial planning, MTFS and budget-setting activity, while providing strategic advice to senior leaders and Members. Rate: £600 - £700 per day PAYE Initial Contract: 6 months Full-time The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of the Council's Medium-Term Financial Strategy and annual revenue and capital budget-setting processes. Coordinating annual revenue and capital budget setting, forecasting and financial modelling. Providing robust strategic financial advice and challenge to senior officers and elected Members. Leading monthly budget monitoring and quarterly financial performance reporting. Identifying financial risks, funding pressures, savings opportunities and appropriate mitigations. Reviewing business cases, investment proposals and transformation initiatives for affordability and deliverability. Significant financial planning and budget-setting experience within a Local Authority environment. A strong understanding of Local Government finance, with experience advising senior officers and elected Members. If you are interested, please submit your CV along with your required day rate.
