Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Police Force in the Midlands to appoint an Interim Finance Design & Implementation Lead to support a major Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP transformation programme. This is a senior interim assignment focused on leading the Finance & Payroll workstream, acting as the key functional expert between the implementation partner, technical teams and operational stakeholders. The role will be central to ensuring the Oracle Fusion Cloud solution is configured to meet statutory, operational and finance/payroll requirements while supporting wider transformation goals.

The Role
The successful candidate will lead the Finance & Payroll design and implementation workstream within a wider ERP transformation programme.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the functional design of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP Finance & Payroll modules.
- Acting as the senior functional SME for Finance & Payroll.
- Working closely with the Programme Director, Project Manager and implementation partner.
- Supporting design across areas including General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Projects, Payroll and budgeting/planning where applicable.
- Supporting SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover planning and go-live readiness.
- Translating complex system changes into clear, business-friendly language for stakeholders.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Professional accountancy qualification, ideally CCAB / CIMA / ACCA.
- Proven experience implementing Oracle Cloud ERP Finance & Payroll.
- Multiple full lifecycle ERP implementation experience.
- Strong hands-on configuration experience across core Finance and Payroll modules.
- Experience designing Chart of Accounts, financial controls, payroll workflows and integrations.
- Strong understanding of UK statutory requirements, VAT, audit and public-sector finance processes.
- Experience working with system integrators and challenging design decisions where needed.
- Public sector, policing or highly regulated sector experience would be highly beneficial.
- A confident, delivery-focused and hands-on approach.
