Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Advisor for a Local Authority Client in Southwest London. In this role, you will support people at risk of homelessness by assessing their needs and securing appropriate housing solutions.
Duties:
- Provide frontline housing advice, complete housing needs assessments, and develop personalised housing plans.
- Manage a complex caseload, delivering homelessness prevention and relief through advice, negotiation, and mediation.
- Assess homelessness applications under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and communicate outcomes to customers.
- Explore and secure suitable housing options, including private rented and supported accommodation, to prevent homelessness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in a housing options, homelessness prevention, or local authority housing service.
- Experience managing a busy caseload and working effectively in a high-pressure, customer-facing environment.
- Experience applying housing law, particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Housing Act 1996 Part VII.
- Experience in negotiation, mediation, and working with vulnerable individuals to achieve positive housing outcomes.
