About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Site Manager to join a school in Alvaston, Derby, providing long-term sickness cover. This is a key role within the school, responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises and support the smooth running of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school site each day
- Managing the maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds
- Carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks
- Ensuring the site complies with health and safety regulations
- Conducting routine safety checks and maintaining site records
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing works on site
- Supporting with deliveries, furniture moves, and room setups
- Ensuring the school environment remains clean, safe, and fully operational
What We're Looking For
- Previous site manager, caretaker, or facilities management experience, ideally within a school environment
- IOSH qualification preferred
- Relevant health and safety training and knowledge of compliance procedures
- Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- A proactive and reliable approach
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
