Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority in North East London to appoint an Interim Finance Lead to support the delivery of a major finance system implementation project. This is an interim assignment focused on leading the finance workstream for the migration to OneAdvance Financial from legacy systems, providing visible day-to-day leadership across the project and acting as the key finance representative to the wider organisation.
What's on Offer
- Rate: Β£400 - Β£600 per day, inside IR35
- Contract length: 3-6 months initially
- Full-time Hybrid working - 1 day in office
- Start: ASAP / subject to notice
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside the full-time IT Project Manager to lead the finance elements of the system implementation, ensuring seamless coordination across all finance workstreams and maintaining strong business engagement throughout the project.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing day-to-day leadership of the finance workstream for the OneAdvance Financial implementation.
- Managing and coordinating finance service specialists involved in the project.
- Ensuring alignment and continuity between all finance areas impacted by system migration.
- Acting as the outward, business-facing finance lead for the project.
- Closely managing and supporting the project accountant within the team.
- Providing guidance on Local Authority best practice in management and financial accounting.
- Supporting the successful migration from Agresso and ASH Debtors to the new system.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience delivering finance system implementations within a Local Authority or significant Local Authority accounting experience combined with systems implementation exposure.
- Strong understanding of Local Government finance processes and controls.
- Proven project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work hands-on within a transformation environment.
- CCAB qualification preferred (or equivalent relevant experience).
