We are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Derby DE23 area for an immediate start. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children or individuals who have transferable skills from care, support work, youth work, coaching, or similar backgrounds.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Working 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom
- Helping pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
- Supporting emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff
Requirements:
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Transferable skills from care/support roles will also be considered
- Patient, calm, and understanding nature
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (UDS) preferred OR willingness to pay for a new DBS
