About the Role
As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting both academic progress and personal development. You may be required to support pupils on a one-to-one basis, work with small groups, or assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting teachers in the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Assisting pupils who may require additional support with their educational and social development.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to maintain a productive learning environment.
- Preparing and organising classroom resources and learning materials.
- Supervising pupils during classroom activities, break times, and educational visits where required.
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where appropriate.
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and positive approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- A willingness to learn and develop within an educational setting.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Spencer Clarke Group.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
