We are seeking a motivated and supportive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Further Education college in Dartford, working with learners who have a range of learning difficulties and SEND needs. This role is ideal for someone confident supporting Maths and English in a classroom setting and passionate about helping young people develop the skills they need for education, employment, and independence.

The Role

  • Supporting learners with SEND in Maths and English lessons
  • Providing in-class support to improve engagement, understanding, and progress
  • Assisting learners with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs
  • Working closely with lecturers and support staff to implement support strategies
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours

Requirements

  • Ability to support Maths and English in a classroom environment
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND or learning difficulties
  • Background in youth work, care work, or support work (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient, and inclusive approach

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
  • SEND-related training or CPD
