We are working with a public sector client in Cardiff who are looking for Social Work Assistants to join Children’s Services, working within the Fostering Team.

You will join an established and supportive team, working alongside the Principal Social Worker (PSW) and Service Manager, supporting the delivery of fostering services for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of foster carers, providing support and supervision
  • Support the delivery of services within Children’s Services, Fostering Team
  • Undertake assessments, planning and reviews of quality of care
  • Develop and review person-centred and enabling care plans
  • Work closely with multi-agency professionals
  • Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records using internal systems
  • Work both independently and as part of a supportive team
Key Requirements
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience working with multi-agency professionals
  • Skills in assessment, planning and risk assessment
  • Understanding of relevant children’s legislation
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches (desirable)

Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.

Pay Rate: Starting from £16.62

Working pattern - 37 hours per week, onsite.
