Permanent Teacher of Science - SEMH School Location: Bolton Salary: MPS/UPS - Paid to scale, dependent on experience Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: January 2027 Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEMH school in Bolton to recruit a dedicated Teacher of Science to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Science Teacher to work in a nurturing specialist setting, where small class sizes allow you to build strong relationships with pupils and provide truly personalised support. With class sizes of no more than five pupils, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people who may have experienced barriers to learning. The Role As the school's Science Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4. Plan, prepare and assess lessons around individual pupil needs. Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils. Encourage engagement, confidence and academic progress. Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team. Create a structured, positive and inclusive learning environment. Adapt your teaching to ensure every pupil can access and succeed in Science. Support pupils in developing their confidence, independence and wider learning skills. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have: QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experience teaching Science at secondary level. A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs. Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills. A patient, resilient and flexible approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Previous experience within an SEMH, SEND or alternative provision setting would be desirable but is not essential. Why Apply?
