We are currently working with a welcoming Alternative Provision in Bolton who are looking for a dedicated Intervention Mentor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with young people and help them re-engage with education.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and intervention support
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and emotional needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Delivering targeted interventions to improve engagement, confidence and behaviour
- Supporting pupils who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education
- Helping pupils develop social, emotional and life skills
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
- Managing challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within education, care, youth work or support settings
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Confident managing difficult situations calmly and professionally
- Patient, resilient and approachable
- Able to build positive relationships with hard-to-reach young people
- A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Previous experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEN school or mainstream setting would be beneficial
This role would suit a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Learning Mentor, Support Worker or aspiring teacher with a passion for making a difference.
