About the Role
As an Unqualified Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils throughout the school day. You'll help create a positive and engaging learning environment, provide support to individual pupils and small groups, and assist with day-to-day classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering lessons across the primary curriculum.
- Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Encourage pupil engagement, participation, and confidence in learning.
- Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
- Support pupils with varying learning abilities and needs.
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote positive behaviour and follow school policies and procedures.
- Support pupils during breaktimes, educational activities, and school events where required.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting children's development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Relevant childcare, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or volunteer experience would be advantageous.
