We are seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in schools across Blackburn. This role involves working closely with teachers to provide targeted support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN/SEMH needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies and individual learning plans
- Encourage positive engagement and participation in lessons
- Support children's social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
Requirements:
- Proven experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptability
- Ability to build positive relationships and foster inclusion
