Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Lead on budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring expenditure. Ensure the school operates within budget, delivers value for money, and complies with financial regulations and audit requirements.
- HR & Staffing Oversight: Manage recruitment processes, contracts, payroll coordination, and staff records. Support the Headteacher in HR matters including absence management, performance, and compliance with employment legislation.
- Premises & Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance, security, and development of the school site, ensuring a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Take responsibility for health & safety across the school, including risk assessments, policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Administration & Operational Leadership: Lead the admin function of the school, improving systems and processes to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Support strategic planning and contribute to the overall leadership of the school.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business, finance, or operations management (experience in a school or education setting is highly desirable).
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
- Understanding of health & safety, safeguarding, and statutory compliance requirements within an organisation (schools experience preferred).
- Ability to manage teams, work collaboratively with senior leaders, and communicate effectively with staff, governors, and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and implement effective systems and processes.
