Spencer Clarke Group are assisting a local authority in the appointment of an experienced Family Support Worker to join their Early Help Team in Birmingham! As a Family Support Worker you will be expected to work directly with and provide support to families with children and young people. This will include working in partnership with relevant professionals and agencies, to ensure good outcomes and life chances for children and young people in Worcestershire.

You will be required to assess, plan and review the needs of families in order to ensure that support is in place to meet their current and future needs. Please note, this role will be Hybrid working which will include working remotely, within the community and in the office.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Carry out direct work and support children and their parents and/or other relatives/carers as part of an assessment, plan or review.
  • Supervise contact between children and their families as part of an assessment, plan or review.
  • Encourage and empower parents/carers to take responsibility for meeting needs of their children.
  • Help support the care of children and families reaching where there is high risk of family breakdown by helping to carry out assessments/interventions.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies as part of the 'team around the family'.
  • Work flexibly based on the needs of children and families.

To be a successful candidate for this role you must have the following:

  • Experience of direct work with children and families.
  • Full UK Drivers License and access to your own vehicle.
