We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley. This full-time position involves providing 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and later transitioning to work 1:1 with a child in Year 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to meet the individual needs of a pupil with SEN.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement EHCP strategies.
- Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and behaviour management.
- Support the child's social integration and engagement in classroom routines.
- Offer additional support to the wider class when needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- Has a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or substantial experience working with children, particularly those with SEN.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills.
- Is proactive, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
