Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced Transport Support Service Manager to organise and oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of safe and effective transport services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The Transport Support Service Manager will work within the SEND team for our local authority client in South East England to successfully lead the council's Education Transport and Fleet Management Service teams, ensuring high standards of service provision to support pupil's access to education.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in the management of transport services to vulnerable adults and children.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding policies and transport regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Oversee the delivery of home-to-school transport services, ensuring it is safe, cost-effective and tailored to individual needs.
- Identify and implement innovative ways of working that enhance efficiency and improve the quality of customer service provided to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain effective budget monitoring, reducing costs where possible whilst maintaining high-quality service provision.
Skills required:
- Able to successfully prioritise workload and use resources effectively.
- Demonstrated ability of working well both as part of a team and in a leadership position.
- Proven experience in setting service performance goals and effectively leading a team to achieve and exceed these targets.
