Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer/Homelessness Assessment Officer a Local Authority Client based in East London.
In this role, you will provide tailored support to vulnerable households, helping them sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness through effective collaboration, needs assessment, and proactive intervention.
About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

Provide support to vulnerable households, conduct needs assessments, develop personalised support plans, and promote independent living by offering benefits advice, financial guidance, and life skills training.

Work with Health, Social Care, Probation, and Third Sector agencies, referring clients to appropriate services and fostering community connections to maintain tenancies.

Identify risks to tenancies, implement measures to prevent re-homelessness, and proactively address behaviours that may threaten tenancy stability.

Maintain accurate casework records, ensure effective communication with clients and partners, and contribute to achieving service targets and delivering customer service excellence.
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

Proven experience working with vulnerable households in a housing-related service, managing caseloads, and developing effective support plans.

Experience conducting thorough needs assessments and providing advice on welfare benefits, debt counselling, and budgeting to help sustain tenancies.

Demonstrated ability to work with multiple agencies (Health, Social Care, Probation, and Third Sector) to deliver coordinated support and prevent tenancy breakdown.
