About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a school in Twickenham, London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or a hands-on individual with a strong maintenance background who is looking for an ongoing role with the potential to secure permanent employment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, secure and well-maintained school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Working Hours
The role operates on a rotating shift pattern, with the following working hours:
- Early Shift: 6:30am - 2:30pm
- Day Shift: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Late Shift: 10:00am - 6:00pm
Flexibility to work across all three shift patterns is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school premises as required.
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
- Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are safe, tidy and well maintained.
- Conducting routine site inspections and reporting any maintenance or health and safety issues.
- Assisting with deliveries, setting up rooms and moving equipment when required.
- Monitoring site security and ensuring access procedures are followed.
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school site.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caretaking, facilities management, maintenance or a similar role is desirable.
- A practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Strong awareness of health and safety and site security.
- A reliable, flexible and professional attitude.
