- We are currently recruiting
- Behaviour Mentors to work within specialist provisions across the
Blackburn area . You will be supporting both primary and secondary-aged students , helping them to manage their emotions and behaviour, overcome barriers to learning and engage positively in education.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
- Support primary and secondary-aged students within specialist provisions.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
- Help pupils develop strategies to regulate their emotions and manage their behaviour.
- Support students during challenging situations using appropriate behaviour management techniques.
- Encourage positive engagement, attendance and participation in learning.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual behaviour support plans.
- Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Support pupils to build confidence, resilience and independence.
What We're Looking For
- A calm, patient and resilient individual.
- Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, social or emotional needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting young people.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Essential Requirements
Enhanced Child DBS , or willingness to apply and pay for one.
- A minimum of
24 months of professional employment references .
- The right to work in the UK.
- Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday .
- Ability to travel across the
Blackburn area .
