Spencer & James Recruitment are working with one of the UK's leading Tier 1 Construction & Property Services Contractors, seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead on the delivery of a new Environmental Sustainability Plan by embedding resource-efficient practices across various projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate with bid teams, designers, project managers, procurement, and supply chain partners to drive material reuse, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with UK waste legislation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead resource efficiency initiatives across business units and sites
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and maximise material recovery
  • Work closely with design and procurement teams to deliver sustainable solutions
  • Create performance metrics and automate reporting processes
  • Provide technical support for tenders and policy updates

What We’re Looking For:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Science/Management
  • Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working toward it
  • Strong knowledge of waste legislation, circular economy, and ISO standards
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of sustainability impacts on the environment, within the built environment, construction and property services (incl retrofit and refurb) sectors.
