Apprentice Additional Needs Teaching Assistant
St Giles Spencer Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Apprentice Additional Needs Teaching Assistant to start 1st September2026 on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis.
Responsibilities
- Support a child with special educational needs throughout their school day, both in the classroom and during break times.
- Develop knowledge, skills and professional behaviours under the support of experienced staff.
- Assist in creating a safe, engaging and inspiring learning environment for pupils with additional needs.
- Join in classroom and outdoor activities to encourage learning.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective teamwork.
- Calm, creative approach to working with pupils with additional needs.
- Prior experience or knowledge of supporting non‑verbal pupils with autism and sensory needs is an advantage.
- Commitment to providing a high‑quality education for pupils with special educational needs.
