This role will play a pivotal role as we continue our Lean journey in ensuring that manufacturing resources stay focused on assembling, encapsulating and testing product. This is a production control support service to manufacturing in both the managing and distribution of Kits, providing Tooling and Consumables and the movement of products between production processes to maximise our productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive Kits from stores and hold in an organised way within the Supermarket area.
  • Preparation of kitted parts, Consumables and Tooling required for manufacture and distribute to operators as per the production plan.
  • Receipt Sub-Assemblies into the Supermarket and issue to Works Orders as required.
  • Prepare material for Work in Progress so it is ready for next stage.
  • Control the allocation of specialist tooling and consumable kits in and out of the Supermarket (RFID Scanning).
  • Replenish Product Consumable boxes to ensure Operators have the required parts to carry out their operation.
  • Always ensure that materials/units are moved and stored with both safety and quality being paramount and to highlight any deficiencies observed not of their making to their line manager for resolution.
  • Be the primary conduit for communication between Manufacturing and Stores where a kit non-conformity has been identified, to seek a timely resolution to avoid late WO on time completion.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good numeracy and literacy including computer literate with previous material handling experience.
  • Use of trolleys and transportation cages.
  • Strong interpersonal and written skills.
  • A problem solver with the ability to seek alternative solutions.
  • Competent user of MS Office particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Knowledge of JIT and KANBAN driven processes.
  • Hands on approach with a strong attention to details with excellent follow up skills.
  • Team player skills with the proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working conditions

  • The role includes the use of PPE where appropriate e.g. safety shoes, eyewear, gloves.
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Regular lifting and movement of materials up to 30kg (with use of mechanical aids where applicable) in accordance with risk assessment and safe working practices.
  • Use of DSE.
