MAIN OBJECTIVES
Responsible for the supervision of the encapsulation process for electro mechanical assemblies and hands-on encapsulation processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning, allocating, and co-ordinating workload in accordance with production schedule and other internal customers in line with capacity requirements.
- Maintenance and filter change of Spray booth in accordance with procedures.
- Sealing, priming, encapsulating and mechanical assembly of units for encapsulation.
- Operating automated equipment to pour encapsulation into assemblies.
- Carrying out routine maintenance checks and cleaning of potting machine, compressor and vac pump and training other employees to ensure maintenance tasks are completed.
- Training employees to ensure there is essential backup for encapsulation tasks.
- Raising production paperwork including non-compliance/rework records and stores requisitions in accordance with company processes.
- Working as part of a team to ensure departmental objectives are achieved.
- Ensuring all quality procedures for build and workmanship standards, repair techniques and ESD requirements are implemented.
- Working with other team members to continuously improve quality and processes, maintain and improve housekeeping in accordance with 5S tasks and cleanliness of work area.
- Ensuring personal protective equipment, particularly respiratory protection requirements, are observed and maintained.
- Ensuring familiarisation with relevant elements of the Company quality management system including static handling precautions and workmanship standards, the use of test equipment/systems and relevant test procedures/specifications.
- Supporting the management systems and improvement team activities for ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 Environmental and health and safety management system requirements.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in an encapsulation process environment.
- Understanding of mechanical assembly procedures and processes.
- Appreciation of modern manufacturing techniques.
- Good communication skills.
- Supervisory / Management Experience.
Working conditions
- The role includes the use of PPE where appropriate e.g. safety shoes, eyewear, gloves, respiratory masks.
- Operation and maintenance of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday.
- Regular lifting and movement of materials up to 30kg (with use of mechanical aids where applicable) in accordance with risk assessment and safe working practices.
- Occasional lifting and movement of equipment/materials up to 800kg with use of mechanical aids in accordance with risk assessment and safe working practices.
