Speedy, the UK's leading hire provider, is seeking a Small Tools Fitter to join our Newport depot team.
This role ensures a wide range of mechanical and access equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for hire.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, service, and repair mechanical and access equipment in line with LOLER, PUWER, and Speedy standards.
- Carry out pre-hire and post-hire inspections to ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Complete service and inspection records using internal systems and Microsoft Office.
- Prioritise equipment to meet depot operational needs and customer demand.
- Maintain excellent health and safety standards within the workshop and on customer sites.
- Support asset availability by working closely with depot and operations teams.
- Attend customer sites when required to carry out servicing, breakdown response or inspections.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent Speedy in a professional manner.
- Actively support Speedy's ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver through safe, sustainable and responsible working practices.
Qualifications
- Previous engineering or workshop experience, ideally within mechanical, plant, access, lifting or hire equipment environments.
- Good understanding of health and safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills. What We Offer
