We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to organise and coordinate all aspects of the transport function within the depot, providing key support to the Depot Manager. This role involves a variety of tasks, focussing on delivery and collections, fuel scheduling, booking external haulage including purchase order arrangement, staff management and training, maintaining product knowledge and arranging for the upkeep of all vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Organise and coordinate the transport function within the depot.
- Support the Depot Manager.
- Focus on delivery and collections.
- Schedule fuel usage.
- Book external haulage and manage purchase orders.
- Manage and train staff.
- Maintain product knowledge.
- Arrange upkeep of all vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety practices.
- Support the business unit/team to deliver the ESG strategy.
Qualifications
- Previous managerial/supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to prioritise workload while working with colleagues.
- Full driving licence ideally with Class 2 category.
- Full CPC qualification.
- Excellent understanding of managing health and safety practices.
