Lloyds British, part of the Speedy Group, is looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our team. This is a hybrid role and can be based anywhere nationally, offering flexibility while supporting business growth across the UK. The purpose of this role is to identify, pursue and secure new business with new clients (and, where required, new revenue streams with existing customers) by selling Testing, Inspection, Certification and adjacent value-added services in line with company strategy. You will develop and maintain a strong, consistent sales pipeline and deliver sustainable sales growth aligned to geographical, sectoral and profitability objectives. Responsibilities
- Proactively prospect for new business opportunities using a wide range of sources including lapsed customers, online research, field-based activity, supplier relationships, exhibitions and networking events.
- Actively manage all sales opportunities through each stage of the pipeline, ensuring timely and effective progression to a decision.
- Work closely with the Speedy Bids and Tenders team and wider colleagues to create tailored proposals that maximise our chance of success.
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue and margin targets.
- Ensure all customer, pricing, opportunity and sales data is accurately recorded and maintained in the CRM system.
- Maintain a robust and up-to-date sales pipeline at all times.
- Build strong market intelligence, including competitor activity, pricing trends, account opportunities and threats.
- Stay informed on national and regional commercial projects that create opportunity for Lloyds British and the wider Speedy Group.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc feedback to help shape and strengthen Lloyds British's commercial and service proposition.

- Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and maintain effective interactions.
