We are looking for a People Business Partner to join our fantastic People team at Speedy. This is an experienced, hands‑on, and fast‑paced role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and make a real impact across the business. You will play a key role in delivering our People First strategy, supporting, and influencing leaders to drive engagement, performance, and organisational success.
About The Role
Reporting to the Head of People Partnering and working as part of a divisional MD’s leadership team, you will partner with senior stakeholders to support the people agenda across your business area. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance across all areas of HR, while helping to shape and deliver strategic people initiatives that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver the People strategy and support business objectives
- Conduct gap analysis of HR processes and implement long‑term, sustainable solutions
- Support and lead on complex HR cases and people‑related projects
- Develop talent pipelines through effective recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention strategies, including early careers
- Play a key role in change management, supporting leaders to successfully deliver transformation initiatives
- Provide expert advice on performance management, employee relations, engagement, and culture
- Coach and develop senior stakeholders, enhancing leadership capability and employee engagement
- Analyse People data and workforce insights to inform strategic decision‑making
- Support organisational design, workforce planning, and role structuring aligned to business needs
- Act as a trusted coach to leaders, enabling them to confidently manage people and build high‑performing teams
- Support leaders in making informed, pragmatic decisions on people matters
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a People Business Partner or similar senior HR role
- Strong knowledge across core HR disciplines including employee relations, performance management, and organisational development
- Experience influencing and coaching senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret People data and insights
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Experience supporting change and transformation initiatives
Desirable
- Experience working in a multi‑site, operational environment
- Background within engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a similar industrial sector
- Exposure to early careers development and talent programmes
- CIPD qualification (or working towards)
