We’re looking for an Inspection Engineer to join our Wolverhampton team. Whether you already have experience within the lifting industry or have a strong engineering background and want to develop your technical knowledge, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career with structured training and development.
As an Inspection Engineer, you’ll work with a wide variety of lifting equipment and accessories, carrying out inspections and testing to ensure equipment remains safe and compliant. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting lifting equipment and lifting accessories
- Carrying out load testing and pull testing
- Completing equipment examinations and identifying defects
- Producing accurate inspection and certification documentation
- Supporting occasional destructive testing where required
- Supporting activities within the rigging loft
- Ensuring work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and company procedures
- Providing customers with a professional, knowledgeable and reliable service
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance at all times
Previous experience within lifting equipment inspection would be an advantage, but we’re also interested in people with a strong engineering or mechanical background who have the aptitude and ambition to develop. Ideally, you'll have:
- Experience within lifting equipment, inspection, testing or a similar engineering environment
- LEEA qualifications or previous LEEA training would be advantageous
- An Engineering or Mechanical NVQ/City & Guilds qualification would be desirable but isn't essential
- A practical approach to engineering and problem solving
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with customers
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- A full UK driving licence
