The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Communications Engineer to join our team in Tamworth. Reporting into the depot management team, you will take overall responsibility for ensuring communications equipment, i.e. two-way radios, duplex comms, powered air respirators, and IT routers, is maintained, inspected, and repaired to the highest possible standards. Your work will play a key role in minimising equipment downtime, reducing breakdown costs, and ensuring customers receive fully compliant and reliable equipment for hire.
Working closely with depot colleagues, you will carry out detailed inspections, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnosis on returned equipment, ensuring all items meet safety, operational, and quality standards before rehire. You will also be responsible for completing accurate service records and maintaining clear documentation to support compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough inspection, servicing, and maintenance of communications equipment and associated products.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime and ensure reliability.
- Conduct comprehensive safety checks on all returned equipment prior to rehire.
- Maintain accurate documentation, service records, and compliance reporting.
- Liaise with the Depot Manager and wider team to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
