We are currently looking for a Small Tools Fitter - Mechanical to join our Warrington team. This is a hands-on, varied role where you will play a vital part in ensuring our small tools and mechanical equipment are safe, compliant and ready to support our customers when they need us most.
Based primarily at our depot and occasionally attending customer sites, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of small tools and mechanical hire equipment, ensuring all assets meet safety, quality and compliance standards.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs on a wide range of small tools and mechanical hire equipment.
- Diagnosing faults quickly and effectively, ensuring equipment is returned to service safely and efficiently.
- Completing all service documentation accurately using internal systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ensuring all equipment meets PUWER and other relevant compliance standards.
- Supporting equipment availability by working closely with depot, logistics and operations teams.
- Providing excellent customer service and representing Speedy in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Actively supporting Speedy's ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver by working safely, sustainably and responsibly.
What you'll need:
- A full UK driving licence.
- Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential, ideally within the hire industry or a similar engineering environment, particularly working with small tools or portable equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and remain calm under pressure, while also being a strong team player.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement.
