Speedy are the UK's leading hire provider with the widest range of tools, specialist hire equipment, plant and support services - everything for every job! Based in Bristol as an Apprentice Lifting Engineer, you will be an important part of depot operations and a key player in keeping the workshop productive, meaning equipment is always available for our customers to ensure their experience with us is positive and we continue to be the best hire company in the industry.
You will take part in our structured three-year training programme. During this time you will be trained by our knowledgeable and experienced colleagues along with attending block placements with our college provider.
Programme Overview:
- Year 1/2: Completion of a Level 3 Lifting Technician apprenticeship standard and associated End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Year 3: Completion of Speedy's in-house lifting training programme.
When you are not in college completing your formal qualifications, you will be in full-time learning from our experienced engineers and practicing your skills ready to be signed off as a fully qualified engineer at the end of year 3.
Please note that you must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4/Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English in order to be considered for this apprenticeship.
We are looking for apprentices who:
- Are ambitious, driven and willing to learn and develop
- Are comfortable attending block learning placements at other sites in the country and learning both on the job and in a classroom/practical learning environment
- Are comfortable being away from home when attending block placements at college
- Have a natural interest in machinery, mechanics and electrics
- Are comfortable working at height
- Can be team players
- Adapt to a fast-paced working environment
- Show good communication skills
- Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.
