Job Title – Account Manager
Location – London
Working Hours – Monday to Friday – 07:30 – 17:00 – 42 hours per week
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join our UK&I Hire division. This is a field-based role focused on managing and growing a regional portfolio of customers across a defined geographical area. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and supporting projects using a mix of face-to-face engagement and digital tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and grow revenue from a regional customer base and local project sites.
- Develop new business opportunities and increase value from existing accounts through cross- and up-selling.
- Maintain an active pipeline and deliver consistent sales growth in line with business objectives.
- Lead digital campaigns and support major projects, ensuring Speedy is the first-choice provider.
- Conduct a minimum of 25 customer meetings or site visits per week, covering main contractors and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth account transitions and drive compliance on major accounts.
- Support debt management for your customer base and mitigate financial risk.
- Record all activity and sales progress via the CRM system.
- Champion the use of digital platforms, including social media and video tools, to promote services and products.
- Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to support strategy.
- Support the wider sales team, sharing best practices and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Maintain health & safety compliance and promote sustainability through the company\’s Decade to Deliver strategy.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in sales/account management, preferably in construction, hire, or engineering-related industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage pricing and contract negotiations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a consultative sales approach.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and confident operating at all levels within a customer\’s business.
- A team player mindset with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of the construction site environment and sector dynamics.
- Competence using CRM systems and lead generation tools (e.g. Barbour ABI).
- Ability to adapt to change and contribute to digital transformation efforts.
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
