Speedy Freight is looking for a proactive and organised Transport Controller to support our busy National operations from Knutsford.
This is a great opportunity for someone with transport, fleet or logistics experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being at the centre of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing daily transport and fleet coverage
- Supporting drivers with operational queries
- Allocating jobs to drivers and subcontractors, managing driving hours accurately and in real time
- Resolve escalated operational issues quickly and professionally
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of drivers
- Maintaining effective communication with drivers, customers and internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations
- Monitoring vehicle issues and servicing requirements
- Working closely with customer service teams to maintain service levels
- Supporting national contracts and branch operations
- Experience within transport, logistics or fleet coordination
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Good IT and administration skills
