Overview Of Role

The Manufacturing process leader role will provide expert operating machinery knowledge and skills to lead, support and develop people to achieve full production and KPI performance in accordance with safety first principles and Speedibake standards. This role involves coordination and coaching of all operators in line with best practice to achieve zero LTI’s and optimise plant efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Takes an active role to lead the site safety agenda in conjunction with the SOM to ensure low risk culture is maintained and continually improved by use of risk assessments, SSOW, SOP’s and behavioural leadership techniques.
  • Encourage reporting and ownership of hazards to resolution and preventing further incidents occurring.
  • Oversees and coordinates the labour is optimised across plant to ensure effective and efficient plant performance in line with KPI measures.
  • Identifies when the process specification is incorrect in terms of all key areas, ensuring corrective action is driven via the shift team.
  • Accurately reports the performance on a shift basis making recommendations for improvement.
  • Contributes to and drives continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring principles are understood and applied.
  • Effective communication, ensuring clear understanding is maintained at all times regarding shift key deliverables that are aligned to the site strategy.
  • Ensures plant optimisation, throughput, and quality is maintained at all times that meets order fill.
  • Ensure compliance to all legal and site standard requirements.
  • Takes an active role in supporting both individual and team development.
  • Takes ownership of self-development, seeking opportunities to improve personal performance.
  • Ensure a sustained quality driven culture through operative ownership and brand passion.
  • Ensure that Operatives are trained and developed to utilise their individual and team strengths, actively driving both self and team progression, maintaining clear communication links at all times encompassing all key areas.

The Right Person

  • Experience in a FMCG environment and similar role.
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a similar role.
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure.
  • Excellent numeracy and verbal skills.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience and evidence of delivering process improvement via teams.
  • Proven ability in the development and training of staff.
  • Full understanding of the control of the primary elements of the process.
  • PC literacy.
