This is an exciting role that is right at the heart of the business, you will have the opportunity to deliver insight and drive value in a key area that has a substantial impact on the performance of the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Business partner the Commercial Team and Commercial GM to build partnerships and strong relationships to assist with commercial decision making.
- Support new business tender process, coordinating briefs from Commercial through NPD & Finance.
- Provide cover across the finance team where needed and cover for the Head of Finance when required.
- Power BI Expert for the business, able to develop reporting tools to help improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on the business performance.
- Adhere to the ABF Financial Control Framework & drive a control focus across Commercial/NPD teams to minimize & manage risk.
- Supporting the wider finance & commercial team on projects.
Forecasting and reporting
- Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecast.
- Understand and present variances and key risks and opportunities to the Head of Finance and the Commercial GM.
- Production, analysis and understanding of periodic reporting outlining key variances to forecast.
- Attend and manage period performance reviews.
- Deliver a controlled and understood financial period end and produce the period end reporting packs for submission.
- Attend the period end finance meetings, be prepared to discuss the period.
- Ensure all customer investment accruals are maintained, in line with agreements, reviewed and reconciled on a periodic basis.
- Analyse performance of promotions, both pre and post; review with the commercial team, understand the ROI, and approve promotions or activity when required.
- Monitor the financial outlook and ensure key stakeholders are informed.
Development Areas
- Challenge current ways of working, driving effectiveness and cost savings where possible throughout the business.
- Coordinate central AMB Procurement relationship and support buying decisions with insightful, accurate and timely information.
- Track performance against annual procurement savings target.
- Provide finance support to Product Value Engineering projects.
The Right Person
- Qualified Accountant, CIMA or ACCA preferred, with a demonstrable track record of work experience.
- Strong analytical mindset & can use data and analysis to drive informed decision making.
- Logical, commercially astute approach to solving business problems and an eye for detail.
- Effective at building working relationships with non-financial people and quickly establishes credibility.
- Ability to implement change & recommendations when required.
- Provide judgement, advice and support whilst working to tight deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills, able to quickly learn new complex systems.
- Experience in developing financial models and reports in Power BI tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
