At Speedel, we’re investing in the next stage of our commercial growth and are looking for an additional Commercial Business Development Manager to help drive it. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing organisation, helping businesses solve complex and time-critical logistics challenges across the UK, Europe and globally. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and developing long-term customer accounts. You’ll have the autonomy to shape your own pipeline, influence commercial strategy and make a visible impact on the growth of the business. You’ll work with organisations ranging from SMEs through to larger corporate customers across sectors including aerospace, automotive, healthcare, manufacturing and professional services.
The Opportunity
- Identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across SME and corporate markets
- Building and managing a healthy pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals and inbound enquiries
- Running online and face-to-face meetings with prospective customers
- Understanding customer requirements and developing tailored logistics solutions
- Preparing commercial proposals and supporting RFQ and tender opportunities
- Opening new customer accounts and managing the onboarding process
- Retaining ownership of customer relationships following account activation
- Growing existing accounts through relationship development, upselling and cross-selling opportunities
- Building relationships with operational, procurement and commercial stakeholders
- Working closely with Operations to ensure customer expectations are delivered consistently
- Maintaining accurate pipeline, opportunity and account information within CRM
- Managing activity and performance against agreed revenue, account growth and commercial targets
This is a full-cycle, account-led role with genuine autonomy, long-term account ownership and strong earning potential.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in B2B business development or commercial sales within a corporate environment
- Experience working within structured RFQ, tender or commercial sales environments
- Delivering professional presentations and negotiating commercial agreements with key stakeholders
- Managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through to account growth
- A track record of generating new business and developing long-term customer relationships
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to engage operational, procurement and commercial stakeholders
- Experience preparing proposals, quotations or tender submissions
- Strong organisation, planning and CRM discipline
- Experience within logistics, transport, facilities management, engineering services, business services, outsourced services, telecoms or similar B2B service environments would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence is required.

What We Offer
- £35,000 – £45,000 basic salary (DOE)

- Uncapped commission with realistic OTE of £50,000 – £60,000+
