As a Technical Product Manager, you’ll be defining our product direction in close collaboration with our talented Engineering teams. You’ll own product areas end‑to‑end and ensure we ship the right things at pace, bringing technical credibility to every conversation and product decision. You’ll work alongside the VP, Product in a product function that punches well above its size, complementing our engineering and ML teams with product leadership and aligning our roadmap across sales, research and GTM. This is a role for someone with genuine technical depth who wants to grow into more, using their hands‑on background to drive product impact in one of the most technically interesting areas in AI today.

Responsibilities

  • Ship Voice AI products end‑to‑end: from discovery and definition through to delivery and iteration. Focus on shipping value to customers, not just features.
  • Own the success definition for key product areas, choosing the right metrics and using data to drive iteration.
  • Speak directly to customers: run interviews with users building with our Speech APIs for use cases such as voice agents, medical scribes, and more to understand needs and communicate them to the business.
  • Evolve the product roadmap for your area: bring customer and market insight as well as technical context to build defensible prioritisation decisions.
  • Partner closely with ML researchers and engineers to translate technical requirements and realities into product decisions.
  • Work with sales and GTM to define how we package and position what we build so that what we ship stands out in a competitive market.
  • Help define what great product looks like at Speechmatics: be part of a product culture built on rigour, speed and deep curiosity.
  • Product experience: have taken a product from problem definition to delivery multiple times and measured the impact.

Qualifications

  • Product experience: have taken a product from problem definition to delivery multiple times and measured impact.
  • Technical depth: have worked in software engineering, ML, data science or a related technical field; comfortable building scripts and quick prototypes, using the latest AI tools to move fast and validate ideas before committing engineering resources.
  • APIs and deployment: familiarity with API‑based products and SaaS or on‑premise deployments helps.
  • ML product fluency: understand that shipping an ML model is not like shipping a software feature; the definition of “ready to ship” is not black and white, and evaluation isn’t pass or fail.
  • Experience working directly with teams that train, evaluate and ship models is an advantage. If background outside ML, must demonstrate rapid technical fluency and relevant experience.
  • Data instinct: comfortable digging into model evaluation results, questioning whether test data reflects real‑world conditions, and understanding what a benchmark result does and doesn't tell.
  • Engineering credibility: can engage with ML engineers, researchers and developers from day one, earning trust by listening and learning rather than relying on title.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: AI is moving quickly; bring enough market and technical awareness to shape roadmap decisions rather than merely react.

Benefits

  • No matter what stage of your career—from paid internships to senior positions—we support training and development to reach your career aspirations.
  • Flexible working, regular company lunches and birthday celebrations; private medical and dental for you and your family, global working opportunities, generous holiday allowance and pension/401 K matching.
  • Working‑from‑home allowance for office equipment beyond laptop and accessories.
  • Parental leave support globally, including adoption assistance and reproductive health services.

We have a hybrid approach with 2–3 designated office days each week, balancing the advantages of remote work with the connection and synergy of in‑person interactions. Speechmatics is an equal‑opportunity employer. We welcome different experiences, viewpoints and identities, and actively support inclusion for all employees.
