Senior Project Manager - Defence Sector (Contract, OUTSIDE IR35)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a high-profile transformation programme within the Defence sector, leading the IT workstream of a large-scale initiative. This is a pivotal role within the client's Product Portfolio, with significant visibility and responsibility across multiple business units and third-party integrators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the delivery of the IT elements of the programme from initiation through to deployment and business adoption.
• Oversee integration development between legacy ERP systems and Webmethods Axway.
• Coordinate closely with the Head Office team and an external Solution Integrator to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of design and integration specifications.
• Manage cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring effective governance and compliance with project controls.
• Drive effective communication, risk management, change control, and issue resolution across all phases of the programme.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience delivering large-scale IT transformation programmes, ideally within the Defence sector.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and finance systems.
• Strong background in managing third-party vendors and system integrators in complex integration environments.
• Ability to lead matrixed teams across functional and technical domains.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all levels.
