They're looking for a Software Engineer to join their software team in Southampton. This role would suit someone whose main focus is C or C++ software development, particularly in multithreaded or high-performance systems. The Role You'll develop, integrate and optimise software that supports the company's 5G NR Physical Layer (PHY) technology. Working with software, hardware, architecture and system-test teams, you'll tackle performance challenges and help build reliable software for a demanding technical environment. Key Responsibilities Develop C/C++ software used to run and test 5G NR PHY algorithms Improve software performance through optimisation and multithreading Integrate software components and help resolve complex technical issues Develop and maintain automated testing and CI processes Collaborate with hardware, architecture and system-test teams Support interoperability testing with customers, vendors and operators Contribute to technical reviews and wider software engineering decisionsWhat We're Looking For Essential: Strong commercial experience developing software in C or C++ Solid software engineering fundamentals Experience with multithreaded or high-performance software An interest in solving complex performance and optimisation challengesDesirable: Knowledge of SIMD or hardware acceleration An understanding of signal processing Exposure to 5G, O-RAN or fronthaul protocols such as eCPRIWhy This Opportunity?
