Our client is seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join their support team to support BAU platform activities across a Windows cloud estate. Working within a team of 8 individuals, this is a newly created role in the business.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd line IT support, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues. Focus on finding the root cause and implementing permanent solutions.
- Platform Expertise: Work with Windows (or Linux) platforms, with a willingness to deepen knowledge in both.
- Visualization & Storage: Administer visualization technologies and storage arrays.
- Patch Management & Backup: Manage patching processes using software like SCCM or Intune, and handle backup concepts and software.
- Incident Management: Use commercial Incident, Problem, and Change management tools.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and incident resolutions. Provide regular reports as needed.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in 2nd or 3rd line IT support.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows platforms.
- Familiarity with public cloud environments.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, VxRail, Nutanix).
- Experience with storage arrays (Dell Compellent, HPE Nimble).
- Experience with patch management software.
- Knowledge of backup concepts and software.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Endpoint protection and anti-virus management experience (SentinelOne).
- Experience with commercial incident, problem, and change management tools (BMC Remedy, Halo preferred).
