Requirements

  • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern software development, with the ability to contribute across both front-end and back-end systems
  • Experience with React, Next.js or similar front-end technologies
  • Experience with Node.js, Bun or similar server-side JavaScript/TypeScript environments
  • Experience with REST APIs, ideally with Express, Nest.js or similar
  • Experience with MongoDB and/or relational databases
  • Experience with unit testing using Jest or similar
  • Experience working in a CI environment
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative development team
  • Useful experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar
  • Personal or commercial experience experimenting with LLMs, coding agents or agentic development workflows
  • Experience with GCP, AWS or Azure
  • Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with Docker and Docker Compose
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery or Continuous Deployment environments
  • Experience with feature flagging, dark launching or similar release techniques
  • Experience with Kubernetes, serverless environments or GitOps principles

Responsibilities

  • Create clean, tested and maintainable TypeScript code across front-end and back-end services
  • Build and improve user-facing features, APIs and core platform functionality
  • Work with databases, cloud services and deployment pipelines
  • Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the coding workflow
  • Contribute to the teams approach to agentic AI coding and modern development practices
  • Work with product owners, developers and technical leadership to understand requirements and shape solutions
  • Support, maintain and improve existing services
  • Learn and apply cloud, infrastructure and deployment practices as part of the wider engineering team

We are a software business building technology for the eCommerce and logistics sector. We are hiring a Full-Stack Developer for a permanent hybrid role based in Southampton, Hampshire, with two days per week in the office and a salary of £55,000 to £60,000. You will join an experienced development team working on a greenfield project for our parent group, alongside ongoing development and improvement of existing software products. We use AI-assisted and agentic coding practices day to day, and we are interested in developers who are curious about how AI can improve development speed, code quality, testing, problem solving and delivery. We use GCP, although strong AWS or Azure experience is also welcome as you grow into Google Cloud. This role suits a full-stack developer who enjoys modern software development, keeps learning, and wants to apply AI-assisted development in a practical, thoughtful way.
