We're working with a SaaS business that requires an experienced contract AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance its hybrid cloud infrastructure environment. This is a hands-on contract role focused on AWS, infrastructure automation, security, networking, and supporting a mix of cloud and on-premise platforms. You'll be joining an established engineering function and will be expected to contribute from day one. The role is primarily remote; however, applicants must be within reasonable commuting distance of Portsmouth as occasional travel to the company's data centre facilities will be required.
Required Experience
- Strong commercial experience supporting AWS infrastructure environments.
- Experience designing, deploying and administering AWS services.
- Good understanding of hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
- Support high-availability environments and disaster recovery requirements.
- Maintain and improve the security, performance, resilience and cost-efficiency of cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working with software engineering teams in an Agile environment.
- Working alongside engineering teams to improve DevOps practices and automation.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage technical deliverables.
Key Technical Skills
- AWS (EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway)
- Docker / ECS
- Terraform, Ansible or AWS CDK
- Cloudflare
- Windows Server / IIS
- Linux administration
- Networking, including switching, load balancing and firewalls.
- Experience working within ISO27001, PCI-DSS or similar security-focused environments.
- Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise.
