Day Rate: £325-£350 per day

Duration: 4 months

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Location: Hybrid Working. 1 day per week in London or Manchester office.

We are currently supporting a highly recognised end client in the search for a Contract Software Tester. This role will sit within an Agile delivery environment and play a key part in defining, driving, and implementing robust test strategies across complex digital products. The successful contract Software Tester will act as the QA representative within an agile squad, championing quality across the full delivery lifecycle and ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements are met to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, communicate, and implement test strategies and approaches
  • Collaborate with technical leads to understand requirements
  • Build and contribute to automated test frameworks
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and investigate critical defects and root causes
  • Produce clear and concise test evidence and reporting
  • Communicate status updates and risks to technical and delivery stakeholders

Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience in automated RESTful API testing
  • Hands-on experience configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Strong understanding of coding practices and software engineering principles
  • Excellent communication skills with experience managing cross-team issues
  • JavaScript and Java programming experience
  • Experience with Rest Assured and Cucumber
  • Strong experience with Gatling and Scala
  • AWS experience including Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and related services
  • Proven Agile environment experience

Desirable Skills:

  • Any Exposure to Node.js and Playwright
  • Contract testing experience (PACT or Karate framework)
  • Awareness of security testing practices
