This isn't a 'keep the system ticking over' HRIS role. It exists because the business is going through change, a structural split, evolving systems landscape, and a need for someone who can actually build, not just maintain HRIS.
You'll be joining a UK-based logistics business that moves high volumes of bulk freight. Internally, things are shifting:
- The business is separating into distinct entities
- HR systems are still shared (for now)
- There's likely a second HRIS instance on the horizon
For the next 12 months, it's a mix of BAU + change. After that, there's potential to be involved in standing something new up.
What you'll actually be doing:
This is hands-on configuration work. Not coordination. Not passing tickets to a third party. Typical examples include:
- Building and deploying new configurations across HCM and payroll-related areas
- Supporting system changes (e.g. new pay elements, rates, rules)
- Managing and maintaining integrations between HR and payroll systems
- Supporting bi-annual system releases and associated testing (UAT)
- Working through the full lifecycle: requirements ? build ? test ? deploy
- Handling BAU issues where system behaviour, data, or processes need fixing
You'll be part of a small HRIS team, giving you real ownership and visibility over the work you deliver.
Requirements:
You'll need:
- Proven experience configuring an HR or payroll system
- Confidence working in the back end of a system - building, not just using
- An understanding of how changes impact downstream processes (especially payroll/data)
Beneficial:
- Workday specifically (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors all fine)
The package includes a salary of £55,000 to £65,000, alongside a 10% bonus. You'll also receive up to a 9% pension contribution, 25 days' holiday, and life assurance.
