Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Materials Operative to join our expanding team.

In this important role, you will support and manage the storage and safekeeping of all components, contributing to the efficient running of the Stores function, ensuring correct procedures are carried out in the storage and issue of materials.

You\’ll be issuing materials in a timely manner to meet production and customer requirements as well as kitting work orders to Shop Floor. You will maintain accurate stock records on the ERP system by carrying out regular stock control as required and ensure stores are always kept clean/ tidy adhering to HSE and Quality regulations.

Main responsibilities

  • Kitting in a timely and organised manner, requisition material to ensure Line side/Kan Ban stock are replenished to agreed levels
  • To be proactive checking stock locations to help ensure parts are available to pick to meet the kit release date
  • To work closely with Materials Co-ordinator to resolve any inventory related issues
  • To carry out Cycle and Annual stock counts and review inventory accuracy reports
  • Ensure correct handling and storage to prevent damage or loss
  • Supporting Goods in and Shipping Department as required

Education/qualifications

  • Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent and to include Maths and English

Knowledge and experience:

  • Proven experience working in a warehouse or similar role
  • Knowledge and understanding of MRP/ERP based business systems and inventory management systems
  • Knowledge and experience in microelectronic / electronic components is desirable
  • Good IT skills including proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously

  • SC cleared or ability to obtain
