Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Electronics Engineer to join our Engineering team based at our Great Yarmouth manufacturing facility.\\nYou will contribute to both internal development and customer funded projects. This encompasses all aspects of design, test and qualification. Product applications include industrial high temperature, harsh environment hybrid microelectronics, RF transmit/receive modules, optoelectronic transceivers, radar systems and hybrid microelectronics for aerospace and defence applications\\nHere are just some examples of the types of programmes you could be working on:\\n – High Temperature – we are a chosen design partner for the design and manufacture of hybrid multi-chip modules used in high temperature environments within oil and gas drilling and exploration.\\n – Defence – we work closely with leading defence primes designing components, modules, and subsystems for applications in missile defence systems, radar, and fighter aircraft.\\nOur customers approach us with complex and challenging projects.

You will be provided with a wealth of development opportunities, engaging with these exciting projects as part of our talented team of highly skilled engineers to provide leading design and manufacturing solutions that meet and exceed those challenges.\\nWorking cross functionally with multiple teams and departments, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of our products throughout their life cycle. This includes:\\nReview of new opportunities:\\n – Reviewing customer enquiries\\n – Supporting sales in quoting\\nDesign of new products:\\n – CAD layout from schematic\\n – BOM generation and management\\n – Simulation and analysis\\n – Qualification of new designs\\n – Design for manufacture\\n – Generating manufacturing documentation\\n – Test specification/design\\nSupporting products in manufacture:\\n – Issue resolution\\n – Customer returns\\n – Support of diagnostics\\n – CI activities and improvement projects\\nLife cycle management:\\n – Component obsolescence review – selection of replacements\\n – Re-design for obsolescence – documentation update\\nAs part of your graduate role, you will complete several placements across our different engineering areas and within other departments outside of engineering to provide you the opportunity to build broad knowledge and experience of the business.\\nWithin engineering you will work across the following disciplines:\\n – Electronics Design\\n – Process Development\\n – RF Engineering\\n – Test and Diagnostics\\nYou will also have the opportunity to work in:\\n – Programme and Product Management\\n – Sales/ Customer Support\\n – Supply Chain and Planning\\n – Quality Assurance\\n – Manufacturing\\nWe offer a competitive salary and benefits package that recognises the value you will bring to Spectrum Control.
