Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a Production Operator to join our expanding manufacturing team. You will be a key member of the team responsible for the assembly, test and inspection of electronic assemblies and components through various process stages using advanced techniques and technologies.
Key tasks and responsibilities:- Operate a range of equipment and tools to perform the testing of electronic components, parts and systems
- Set up and operate automatic testing equipment to locate circuit and wiring faults, shorts and component defects
- Perform basic fault-finding tests to identify process or component failures
- Compare test results to specifications and maintain test result reports
- Assemble microcircuits requiring fine hand assembly with the use of microscopes
- Setup and operate process equipment including automatic and semi-automatic machines
- Operate various test equipment and tools to perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts and systems
- Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English
- HNC or equivalent in electronics would be beneficial though not essential
We’re looking for people with the right attitude and behaviours that we can train on our specific processes, but should you have experience with any of the below this would be beneficial:
- Experience gained within electronics manufacturing or similar industry
- Good understanding of electronic assembly techniques and processes including soldering, automatic and semi-automatic machines, chip attach and wire bonding
- Experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and following standard operating procedures
- Interest/ passion for electronics
- Have a good level of manual dexterity skills
- Possess a high level of focus and concentration with strong attention to detail
- Able to follow written procedures and instructions
- Quick to learn new skills and a willingness to continue to learn and develop and take on new tasks and responsibilities
- Able to work effectively as a part of a team with a willingness to support colleagues
- Self-motivated and able to demonstrate a committed and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude towards work
- Demonstrate a flexible and versatile approach to work to adapt between shifting demands
- SC clearance or ability to obtain
We offer a competitive starting salary of £25,067 per annum.
