Are you a Registered Nurse with a passion for substance misuse and recovery? We are seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse to join our enhanced primary care service - where you will lead on addiction services, support life-changing journeys, and work at the forefront of recovery-focused care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver Opiate Substitution Therapy (OST) - administer methadone, buprenorphine, and Buvidal injections, ensuring safe, effective treatment for patients on OST pathways.
- Drive therapeutic engagement - oversee patients' recovery journeys with a focus on therapeutic engagement, motivation, and progression towards drug-free lives.
- Manage detoxification pathways - support patients stabilizing from illicit drugs and alcohol by managing medications, conducting withdrawal assessments, and addressing complications with clinical expertise.
- Assess new arrivals - see all new patients requiring detox, implement appropriate care plans, and ensure robust monitoring from day one.
- Provide specialist clinical care - conduct bloods, ECGs, and manage blood-borne virus (BBV) screening and treatment for this client group.
- Champion MDT working - collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, coordinated care.
- Lead quality improvement - complete audits relating to your area of practice and contribute to service development.
- Build partnerships - work alongside external agencies including CGL and prison colleagues to create and sustain a recovery-focused environment.
