Prison healthcare GPs play a crucial clinical leadership role in our prison primary healthcare teams. Prior jail experience is desirable but not essential, as full induction and training are provided. New doctors have round-the-clock access to experienced clinical supervision. Successful GPs demonstrate compassion, empathy, fairness, and multidisciplinary teamwork, aiming to deliver high-quality, innovative care. Line management and support are provided by a Regional Lead GP. You will have access to CPD, appraisal, revalidation support through our GP forum, induction, ongoing professional development, coaching, and Spectrum\’s ILM-accredited leadership and management programmes. Substance Misuse If you have a special interest in substance misuse, we will invest in your training to attain national accreditation for delivering an extended role.
